That Little Extra!

This past Saturday I attended a baby shower for one of my friend' sister. While the expecting mother opened her presents, we played bingo. Everyone was given a sheet of paper that had 25 squares on it and you were supposed to write on each of the squares something you guessed the mother would receive. If the person received one of the gifts you had written on one of your squares, you could cross off that square. In the end, when the mother had opened all of her gifts, whoever had the most squares crossed off would get a prize. I had 24 squares crossed off so I won the framed artwork above as my prize!

Bread, Bread, Bread!

The other day mommy and I made bread. I put all the ingredients into the bread machine and then the machine did the kneading. When it was all done, we took the dough out, shaped it, and then put it in the pan. Here is our basic bread recipe:

1 1/8 cups water

1 tsp salt

1 T honey or sugar

2 T olive oil or butter

2 1/2 cups unbleached flour

1 cup whole wheat flour

2 tsp yeast

(this recipe makes one good sized loaf of bread)

My Wallet

My wallet is pretty. Everyday I check on it and see it on the shelf. When I squeeze it, it opens and I can see my quarters. My wallet came from Grandpa H. I love it!

We Miss You, Daddy!

Right now our daddy is in a warm tropical region attending a church conference. The weather on the tropical island is sunny and hot; about 85 degrees. Boy, does that ever sound nice! Some of us wish we were there with him because right here, it's like Antartica! The high today is 12 degrees and the low for this evening will be 0 degrees!

We love you, daddy and miss you very much. We are counting the days until you get back!

My Birthday Surprise

This morning when I went to get dressed, my mom told me to put on some nice clothes because she and daddy had a surprise for me. When it got close to lunch time, mommy curled my hair and had me get my coat on. Everyone wondered where I was going - including me! Soon daddy came home on his lunch break and off we went! The big surpise was that daddy took me out to eat! We had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Daddy gave me my choice of dessert and I picked apple pie. I had such a nice time with my daddy!
